Based in the heart of Paris, Editions 1633 was the publishing company for Playboy, Penthouse and Newlook magazines.
After writing a few pieces for “Newlook Outdoor,” the “all action sports” bi-annual version of Newlook, Michel Birnbaum and Frédéric Doncieux asked me to be take over the Managing Editor position of the monthly Newlook Magazine and even helped on Playboy on these deadlines nights.
Newlook Outdoor circulation had reached 40.000 copies, Newlook Magazine 150.000 copies while Playboy was teetering around 300.000 copies. The lunch breaks were very quick and the nights just short enough.
It’s interesting how people’s perception of working for a men’s publication doesn’t translate in the day to day to do list. I don’t think I have learn that much about color correction in any other magazine.
